Wonderful Summer Visitors
Friday, August 11, 2023
We've had such a wonderful variety of ranch visitors this summer. What's been different?
*Many sets of twins.
This is the first year that we have had a high number of twins visiting us. Mostly identical twins -- it's been a BLAST having DOUBLE the FUN here. One of our favorite times was when Norah June and Polly were haltered and identical twins took them for a little walk. It was like an old commercial I saw when I was a child, Spearmint Gum, "Double your Pleasure, Double your Fun." Their parents did not want pictures published, but you can imagine how sweet this was with our two alpacas that look so very much alike!
*Visitors from European countries while on Holiday.
It's warmed my heart to have had two families from the Netherlands -- my ancestral home. I've loved hearing the native tongues spoken from all of our guests, and enjoyed adding a few words to my vocabulary (temporarily). It's easy to communicate when laughter and alpacas and smiles and fun are common words in any language.
*Silver Breeze.
This little cria (baby alpaca) is a blessing to our ranch. Already eating out of our hands due to the kindness and patience of our guests, and Suze from the Netherlands (the first to get her full trust), Silver Breeze will let you pet her and she will approach you if you are quiet and willing to let her. She thinks she needs to go potty every time I come out to see the girls. Why? I have no clue, but she'll proudly show me she knows where to "go" and what to "do" -- and she does it well.
Please note: If you are making plans to visit us, we will be closed for ranch visits from August 29-September 12 due to plans I have to spend time with little grandchildren.
If you want to shop in the Paca Shop, you can still contact me and we can make arrangements for you to shop. There are some new hats and styles in the shop that have been "flying" out. Smart people are planning ahead to look sharp and to stay warm this fall and winter, or to shop ahead for someone they love.
